Not only was she a style icon, she had a tremendous love and dedication for work in developing countries. She is often referred to as one of the most beautiful women of all time and her fashion styles still exist today.  The best part about it all is that although she enjoyed high fashion, she never placed much importance on it.  She preferred casual, comfortable clothes.
